Church Involvement

Most of my discipleship took place in the Sedgefield Christian Church under Pastor Noel van der Merwe. In 1989 I became the leader of the children's ministry. I received additional training by attending the Children's Church Seminars run by Rhema Bible Church, Randburg, Johannesburg.

A couple of years later we were part of a new church plant in George where I continued to lead the children’s ministry, as well as fulfil a number of other leadership functions. I was also part of a discipleship team for new church members. In 1998, my local church asked me to develop and head the prayer and intercession ministry. I have been involved with home groups right from the beginning of my conversion. Within a year I was leading the group and eventually I was appointed to pastor a number of small groups.

I have a strong prophetic gifting and have also attended a number of prophetic seminars organized by Prophetic Voice Ministries under the supervision of Hatfield Baptist Church, Pretoria.

I have completed many courses run by my local church in various aspects of leadership development, people skills and team building, including "Communion with God" by Mark Virkler, "Seven Laws of the Learner" and "Seven Laws of the Teacher" by Dr Bruce Wilkinson, and others.

In January 1997, I handed over the reins of the children’s ministry so that I could devote more time to Pastoral Counselling.

Following the call of God, we moved to the UK in 2002. From 2004 we attended South West London Vineyard, where we were involved in hospitality and led a home group. In 2012 we moved to Riverside Vineyard Church in Feltham.
